Kelsea Dowsley — Veterinary Assistant

Ever since a joy-filled trip to a pet store during her college years at the University of Georgia, Kelsea has dedicated her entire career to animal care. Her experience at the store impacted her so much that she changed her major from Business to Avian biology. Shortly thereafter she landed her first job at an animal hospital and she’s never looked back.

At Ormewood, Kelsea loves general practice. She loves having the opportunity to see the patients again and again. Watching them overcome their ailments and improve over time. Providing care that benefits pets. Seeing the smile on the parent as they leave with a happy, healthy animal is one of the most rewarding parts of Kelsea’s job.

In direct contrast, Kelsea has a bit of a taste for the macabre to say the least. She is a fan of horror movies—the original Exorcist is one of her favorites. In addition, she’s an avid collector of oddities and curiosities. You’ll find a few skeletons and wet specimens peppered around her home, but she tries to keep it under control so her house doesn’t look like a mad scientist’s laboratory (those are her words, not ours).
